The previous evaluations of all information provided by match partners suggest that the ancestors of the Rittmeyers / Rittmeiers may have come from the areas of the former “Palatinate”.

The Palatinate was located on the Upper and Middle Rhine, between Moselle and Kraichgau, with the core area on the lower Neckar and the capitals of Heidelberg and Mannheim. The “Kurpfälzisches” national territory was not contiguous, but a typical for that time "patchwork" with exclaves and enclaves; individual territories were even shared with other states..

Formerly Palatinate areas are now in the German states of Baden-Württemberg, Rheinland-Pfalz, Hessen, Bayern (Obere Pfalz = Oberpfalz, Pfalz-Neuburg), Saarland and in today belonging to France Départements Bas-Rhin (German Lower Alsace) and Moselle (German Lorraine). (Source: Wikipedia)

The match partners of our DNA project have so far reported on ancestors who are said to come from the location shown in the map. Based on these indications, it can be concluded that one's own ancestors can also come from these regions. Accordingly, church books of these regions will be evaluated in the future.
